Working full time is tiring, even if it is an unpaid internship.

Dream Internship

Right after I said I was getting back into blogging, I became consumed with my new internship. I have a lot of specific people in my life to thank for leading me here. When my Friday workday ended, I wished the next day was Monday so I could go back. I mean, who does that!? I'm currently editing videos for a national nonprofit, and I'll also soon be editing for a design company. I'm amazed at how this came about. Literally, I just walked into the office one day after being told to do so by a third party, and the creative director was kind of forced into taking me. It was a huge relief to acquire this internship, and although it's unpaid, I'm attending classes for free essentially. I'm learning so much, and it hasn't even been that long. As time goes on, I'm narrowing down my career choice, and it's such an exciting process. I'm surprised at myself for coming so far and coincidentally, so it seems, making things happen that are bringing me closer to what I want to do! I'm surrounded by new friends, great talent, outstanding charity, and a very Islamic atmosphere, which is exactly what I need. Ramadan is fast approaching and I've been realizing lately how little I know about the deen. It's like I've forgotten most things I've been taught in Sunday school. So I'm working on preparing for Ramadan and inshallah it will be a beneficial one.. It always is alhumdulillah.
I feel like a million things are going on at once, and it's not helping me clear up my scattered brain, so to speak, but I'm definitely learning more about myself and I'm becoming even more independent.
I guess it's time to throw in a picture of my weekend. We had a family reunion yesterday. And Happy Father's Day to everyone, especially my dad who has done so much for all of us, and I am forever in his debt. Andddd today I made my first ever pizza from scratch! On my new pizza stone. I thought it tasted alright! There is definitely room for improvement, always.

Cornhole!
Much love, everyone. Thank you to the followers who stuck with me despite my lengthy hiatus.<3 p="">Before I leave you all today, I insist you follow my sister's blog, Pieces I Love she's far better at blogging than I am, and she's far more stylish! Let me know what you think :)

b-a-c-k

hiii friends, I'm back! :)
it's been a while, but I think it's time I get back into my blogging phase. i loved blogging, and this year I just kind of lost it while in school...
but now that I'm officially an alum (CRAZY!!!)... I think I can make some time for pinkgingerale. Besides, I need an excuse to write now that I'm not going to be doing it for class.
so far my summer has consisted of hosting visiting family, attending a graduation in New York, volunteering at my sister's second grade class, and hanging out at home. I don't mind too much. Today I was working on some resume stuff and searching for local opportunities to intern, volunteer, and hopefully work. JOB HUNTING IS TOUGH. Who knew!?
I guess I could use my unemployment period to be catching up on Downton Abbey, but I just want to organize my belongings, exercise, and garden. I mean, I haven't done much of any of those yet, but hey! Intentions count for something, right?
Organizing is probably the hardest thing. After four years of staying at college and really only living out of a suitcase during summer break, I have a LOT to organize. Plus, since Samirah became a Nabbus I got her old room and so there was just a lot of sorting to be done.

Anyway, check out this cute dress I got from Need Supply Co that was mad expensive but I won a $50 gift card from a graduation party and violaaa! The result is stylish.
